We want to take this opportunity to provide you with some information that might be helpful as you take steps to become a full-fledged member of the Cornell community.
- If you're an international student, please review the instructions on our Spring Transfer International page.
First: You need to reserve your place in the class.
Please confirm your acceptance of our offer by submitting your $400 deposit. IMPORTANT: The enrollment deposit is due by Friday, January 8, 2021.
If you are applying for financial aid, please make certain you have received your financial aid package before you make a decision about enrolling at Cornell. Your deposit will be credited to your bursar account in your first semester of enrollment at Cornell.
Second: If you have applied for financial aid (or are thinking of applying), read on.
If you have applied for financial aid:
You will receive an award from the Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment if you have completed the financial aid application process. If you met the October 15 deadline for submitting your financial aid application materials, you can expect to receive notification very soon.
If you plan to apply for financial aid:
The aid application deadline was October 15. U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and students with DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival) status who are admitted, but who have not initiated a financial aid application by February 1, 2021, will not be considered for institutional aid. Federal grant and loan sources may still be available. If attending Cornell is contingent on your receiving financial aid, then you must apply for financial aid immediately.
We encourage you to contact the financial aid office directly (607.255.5145 or firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have any questions about your financial aid award or application process.
Next: Sign up for housing if you plan to live on campus.

Even if you are not certain that you will live on campus, we encourage you to complete the online application at https://scl.cornell.edu/residential-life/housing/residential-programs/apply-housing-campus.
Also, don’t forget to sign up for a dining plan. Information regarding dining options and the Apply for a Meal Plan form can be found at https://scl.cornell.edu/residential-life/dining/meal-plans-rates.
About On-Campus Housing
Most transfer students are housed in the West Campus Housing System or in upper-level residence halls with other sophomores, juniors, and seniors. For a different kind of living experience, transfer students may also choose to live in a Program House or in one of Cornell’s eight co-ops. For more information about housing options for transfer students, visit https://scl.cornell.edu/residential-life/housing/campus-housing/new-transfer-undergraduates.
