Fall Transfer International
We want to take this opportunity to provide you with some information that might be helpful as you take steps to become a full-fledged member of the Cornell community.
First: You need to reserve your place in the class.
Please confirm your acceptance of our offer by submitting your $400 deposit. IMPORTANT: The enrollment deposit is due within 30 days of the date of the admission offer. It is important to send in the deposit by the due date to receive a housing assignment.
Student Visa Instructions
After you reserve your place at Cornell, the required forms and instructions to apply for an I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility for a Student Status Visa) will be available at your application status page.
Resources for International Students
- If you don’t know the procedure in your country to apply for a U.S. Visa, go to https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas.html.
- Prepare is the Office of Global Learning's pre-orientation program for international first-year and transfer undergraduates. It gives you an early start on your Cornell experience by introducing you to important resources for international students and helping you make friends from around the world.
- Pre-arrival Information for New International Students – Learn about the visa process, traveling to campus, student check-in and what to do your first week on campus.
- The Office of Global Learning is a valuable resource to help students from around the world thrive at Cornell.

Also, don’t forget to sign up for a dining plan. Information regarding dining options and the Apply for a Meal Plan form can be found on the Cornell Dining website.
Finally:
Please visit newstudents.cornell.edu to find information regarding your enrollment. The website features more information about programs, facilities, and services that you’ll have access to, and instructions for completing your enrollment at Cornell.
You will find details about the Orientation program on the New Student Orientation website and will be sent additional information by the college/school to which you have been admitted.
Reminder: Don’t forget to send a copy of your final college transcript(s) reflecting completed courses through the end of your current term.
Registration: You will receive additional information about registering for classes soon. The semester is slated to begin August 21, 2023.
